About us

Our story:

The Bright Star program started in 2020 by Love One Another Mission Canada, a non-profit Christian organization to help homeless and low-income families primarily in the East Hastings and Whalley neighbourhoods. The sole purpose of our program is to support children from refugee and low-income families by providing free online tutoring and mentoring for children in grades 1 to 12. We believe that every child is important and deserve free and fair education.

Our Mission:

To show love and compassion to children beyond education, cultivating values of sharing and being good to all. We want students to reach their full potential and to achieve their dream through academic success. We aim to be mentors, providing assistance so every student can feel supported in all aspects of their lives.

Every child is born with a unique star in their heart which is waiting to come out to shine for the world. We encourage their differences and their curiosity to learn something new. We want to be a part of their journey to illuminate their own individual stars.
